🦺 Safety First — DOs and DON’Ts of Trash Hopper Operation

✅ DO:

  • Inspect fork tines and hopper locking pins before every use
  • Secure the hopper using the provided pin locking system — no exceptions
  • Make sure the forklift capacity exceeds the loaded hopper weight
  • Load evenly to prevent tipping or instability
  • Use only on level surfaces or when the forklift is stable
  • Wear PPE (gloves, hard hats, safety vests) when loading/unloading

⛔ DON’T:

  • Don’t overload beyond rated weight capacity (5,000 lbs max including the weight of the hopper)
  • Don’t use on slopes or unstable ground
  • Don’t allow personnel to ride in or on the hopper (it’s not a man basket!)
  • Don’t lift if debris is sticking out past the top edge
  • Don’t use with damaged or unpinned fork pockets
