Forklift Self-Dump Buckets
- Load sand, gravel, mulch and most other material
- Manual dump and hydraulic dump models available
- Slips on the forks — installs in minutes
Turn your forklift into a loader with the Star Industries Self-Dump bucket
The bucket installs in minutes and is the perfect solution for loading loose material. No modification to the forklift is required. A hydraulic dump option is also available.Manual Self-Dump Buckets
No modifications or hydraulics required. Simply slide the bucket on the forks and insert the pins to lock it on. The bucket can be tripped with the handle at the back of the bucket or from the operator’s seat with the remote rope release. Lowering the bucket to the ground resets the bucket for the next load. The safety lock prevents accidental tripping of the bucket release during transport.
Hydraulic Self-Dump Buckets
The Hydraulic self-dump bucket provides precise control of the discharge. Hydraulic flow from the forklift is required (hydraulic control valve not included). If the forklift is equipped with a hydraulic side shift, flow from that valve can typically be diverted to the bucket cylinder.

Danger: Do NOT use without installing retaining pins behind the heel of each fork and securing with hairpins or cotter pins. Safety chain(s) must also be used. Wrap chain around a strong part of the fork carriage and secure with locking grab hook. Operating manual/safety information available online and by calling 1-800-541-1797.
The Forklift Self-Dump Bucket Makes Moving Materials Easy
A forklift self-dump bucket is a practical solution for moving various materials, including gravel, sand, and debris, around the job yard or construction site by transforming your forklift into a mini dump truck. The bucket slips on the forks and installs in minutes. No modifications to the forklift are required.
Key Features of a Self Dump Forklift Bucket
As the name suggests, a key feature of a forklift self-dump is the ability to release and dump materials. Manual self-dump buckets use a quick-release handle that is accessible by a rope to the operator. A hydraulic self-dump bucket option is also available, which uses hydraulic flow from the forklift. Other features that make them an essential forklift tool for material handling include:
Easy Fit
A self-dump bucket for a forklift simply slides over the forks. The entire attachment process from start to finish—including the safety lock—takes minutes, improving productivity and reducing downtime.
Precise Control
Hydraulic self-dump buckets precisely control the discharge as the operator can control the speed of the bucket discharge.
Automatic dumping
The forklift self-dump bucket allows the operator to empty the bucket’s contents without leaving the cab. This feature enhances efficiency and ensures the operator’s safety by minimizing the need for manual handling.
Versatile Capacity
Self-dump forklift buckets come in various sizes and capacities to accommodate different materials and volumes. This versatility makes them suitable for various applications, from light-duty tasks to heavy-duty material handling. The ability to choose the appropriate bucket size ensures that operators can efficiently manage different types of loads.
Safety Features
Safety is a critical consideration in material handling, and self-dump buckets are designed with several features to enhance operator safety. These include secure locking mechanisms to prevent accidental dumping, reinforced edges to prevent spillage, and compatibility with forklift safety cages. Collectively, these features contribute to a safer working environment.
Industries That Benefit from Using Forklift Self-Dump Buckets
The versatility and efficiency of forklift self-dump buckets make them valuable assets across various industries. Here are some sectors that particularly benefit from using these attachments:
Construction
In construction, it is essential to move materials like gravel, sand, and debris quickly. Forklift self-dump buckets let workers transport and dump materials easily, boosting productivity. Their robust design withstands harsh construction conditions.
Agriculture
Agricultural operations often involve handling bulk materials such as feed, fertilizer, and soil. Forklift self-dump buckets provide a convenient solution for transporting and distributing these materials. The buckets’ versatility allows farmers to manage different tasks efficiently, from loading feed into troughs to spreading fertilizer across fields.
Waste Management
The waste management industry requires efficient handling various types of waste and debris. Forklift self-dump buckets are ideal for collecting, transporting, and dumping waste materials. The automatic dumping mechanism ensures that operators can quickly empty the buckets, reducing the time spent on waste handling and improving overall efficiency.
Manufacturing
Manufacturing facilities often generate scrap materials and waste that must be regularly removed. Forklift self-dump buckets provide a practical solution for managing these by-products. Transporting and dumping scrap materials efficiently helps maintain a clean and organized workspace, improving safety and productivity.
Landscaping
Landscaping often requires moving soil, mulch, and other materials. Forklift self-dump buckets help landscapers easily transport and spread these materials, making tasks like loading planters or spreading mulch more efficient.
