Plenty of capacity to handle any kind of waste

The Star Industries Crane Trash Skip has plenty of capacity to handle almost any kind of trash or bulk material. Designed to be hoisted with a set of 10ft or longer cable straps it’s a safe and easy way to remove ‘tear off’ and other construction refuse from roofs and decks.
  • Heavy 3/16" steel plate construction
  • Strong 1/4" angle reinforces top edge and corners
  • Rugged channel reinforces sides and bottom
  • Available in six models with weight capacity up to 13,000 lbs
  • Sloped skip end for easy load discharging
  • Fork risers available for larger sizes
To dump the skip, the two forward slings are disconnected from the lifting eyes with the lifting line slack. The skip is then lifted with the rear slings still connected, effectively dumping the load from the sloped end.

Manage Waste Efficiently With a Crane Trash Skip

It can be challenging to remove waste from a construction site, particularly from roof decks, where conventional waste bins or barrows are not available. You need a simple, hassle-free way to collect and dump waste. A crane trash skip is the perfect solution. It’s a fast, easy, and, most importantly, safer way to collect, move, and dispose of waste on a busy construction site.

What Is a Crane Trash Skip?

This is an industrial container designed to be lifted and transported by a crane. It is typically used for collecting, storing, and disposing of large volumes of waste material generated during construction, demolition, or large-scale clean-up projects. These robust skips, sometimes called trash buckets or hoppers due to their open-top design and bucket-like shape, are engineered to handle extreme loads, irregular waste types, and challenging environments where manual handling is impractical.

Key Design Features of a Crane Skip Hopper

The crane trash skip’s rugged bucket is constructed from high-grade, heavy-duty steel. These containers are designed to withstand the repeated stresses of loading, lifting, and offloading heavy materials. The open-top configuration allows debris or waste to be filled quickly and easily, while reinforced corners and sturdy welds ensure lasting durability.

The attachment system on these trash skips is equally important. They typically feature secure lifting points—whether through chains, eyebolts, or integrated lifting hooks—that connect to the crane’s cable straps. This design promotes balanced lifting, which is crucial considering the uneven weight distribution in the skip, and minimizes the risk of accidents such as tipping or detachment during transport.

Crane trash skips also offer versatility in capacity and size. Available in different sizes—from relatively small buckets meant for light debris to large containers for industrial waste—these skips can be selected to match the specific requirements of a job. For example, a large-scale demolition project might require a skip capable of handling almost 1,500 lbs of debris. In contrast, a more minor renovation or landscaping project might only need a modestly sized skip container. This scalability ensures efficient waste management without frequent emptying or handling inadequate equipment.

Popular Uses for the Crane Trash Skip

  • A crane trash skip is designed to be easily attached to any crane and is ideal for removing concrete, plaster, brick, and other construction waste from roofs and decks.
  • Municipal services and industrial facilities also use crane trash skips to dispose of hazardous, bulky, or difficult-to-handle waste.
  • Even landscaping projects and emergency response scenarios—such as clean-ups after natural disasters—find the skip’s mobility and durability essential in managing large volumes of refuse.
